据了解，三门峡水库在黄河调水调沙中起承上启下的作用，此次三门峡水利枢纽与万家寨、小浪底水利枢纽形成联合调度后，可在小浪底水库调水调沙过程中塑造持续性异重流，形成连续的泄流动力，成功实现排沙出库。此次三门峡水库调水调沙过程需要3至4天。
